Review: I'm sitting on my bed in disbelief as to what I just read, or perhaps devoured in a few hours.
If I can give a standing ovation to both Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher, I would right now.
Onto this review...Where does a person begin?
With most Colleen Hoover books, the less you now, the better. So this is most definitely a book you want to know very little about when going into it.
How they wrote this book is so unique, yet risky at the same time. They both took turns writing a chapter without knowing where it was going to go. It could have gone wrong, but they're both such fantastic writers, the story flowed so well.
As the synopsis says:
Best friends since they could walk. In love since the age of fourteen. Complete strangers since this morning.
He'll do anything to remember. She'll do anything to forget.
That's all you really need to know.
There were many different elements to the book. It has some mystery, romance and then a paranormal twist. (Maybe!) It was a real page turner, that kept me on the edge of my seat. I felt like a detective throughout the book, just trying to put all these pieces together.
By the end I was screaming at my Ipad thinking, "That's it, it's just going to end and leave me hanging!" Which is does, but thankfully it's going to be a series. I have so many thoughts as to what's going to happen, and that's what you want in a new series!
This book is unlike anything I've ever read. Yes, the characters aren't super different, but the suspense and eeriness about it made up for that. I can tell that we will get to know them much more in the upcoming books. Agh, I need more please!
What are you waiting for? Just go read it already! I will most definitely be checking out Tarryn Fisher's other books.
