Book Review: Soul Fire By Kate Harrison

Name: Soul Fire
Author: Kate Harrison
Publisher: Indigo

Summary: Welcome to Soul Beach. People are dying to get here. Alice Forster talks to her dead sister, Meggie, in the virtual world of Soul Beach- an online paradise for the young, the beautiful and the dead but paradise can be stifling and the beach's guests want to move on. If Alice can solve the mystery of her sister's murder then Meggie will be free. But passions are running high, the temperatures rising and as Alice get's closer to finding the killer, the killer is getting closer to Alice.

Review: Firstly, I'd like to make it clear that 'Soul Fire' is the second in the series. The emotional rollercoaster ride that is Alice Forster's life has just taken an unexpected turn. The novel is just as enticing as the first instalment but in 'Soul Fire' the tension is on a much higher scale. I love the way there is also a series of comments from the killer- or is it? I love this series, I'm never sure who to trust and I always have a different thought or opinion. Not only is Alice unsure of who she can trust and confide in, as a reader we're also left wondering. The story has so many twists and turns that as a reader you're not expecting.
Someone rather unexpected arrives on the beach, does this prove how Megan died or does this make Alice question everything once again. Alice's trip to Barcelona with friends takes the story on a journey that I was not expecting- and I don't think Alice was either.
I like how real Kate has made this, as Alice's parents are clearly still grieving for their eldest daughter- they argue, they worry about Alice, Alice is even banned from the internet as her parents worry that she's living an obsession, rather than a life of a teenage girl.
'Soul Fire' is the most enticing, exciting, intriguing and compelling read this Summer.

I am so sorry for my absence I aim to be back on fine form for you guys before I leave for California...
