Review: So I was told about this book at a Mira ink blogger event and I fell in love with the plot It sounded like it could be as good as Pefect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles. A trouble lost girl who falls for a bad boy is always a good love story and I knew I was going to love this novel and I did.
Beautiful, edgy, romantic, unusual and unflinching are just some of the words I used to describe this novel
Sexual tension used in this book was tremendous! You're kept on edge through out wondering what has really happens to Echo. I think the names in this book is soaring! Echo, Noah an Aires. Such unusual names and so original I think their probably one of my favorite names used in YA.
Also loved how your kept wondering through out with the character Echo your literally finding sad and haunting things as soon as she does so I think Kate has written it cleverly in that way and it's really refreshing.
Greek mythology was used in this book and I thought it brought a nice touch to the story I feel it made the story more romantic in a way.
Usually I like reading from the girls point of view obviously because you can relate to them more but unexpectedly I enjoyed the guy Noah's point of view more than anything I think Kate has written him in such a way that has you swooning and routing for his and Echo's relationship.
I think this story is a lovely new take of what it means to love someone, first loves, first experiences and just things that teenagers go through in their day to day lives so I think the story was very relatable!
I mean one thing that I had a little issue with was (minor spoiler) that there was all this sexual tension and it was built up so much and I was expecting some sort of epic Climax (no pun intended) some sort of love scene. And you guys yes I know this is YA and it is not all about sex but honestly this book had a theme of sex running through. Reading all this tension built up to not have a crescendo was kinda frustrating for me. It was like walking up a mountain getting half way to the top and then going back down again without getting to the top. But all in all it was a beautiful love story that I defiantly recommend!
