Summary: IS LOVE A GREAT ENOUGH POWER AGAINST EVIL?
Bethany Church believes so- after all, the love of her angel siblings and her boyfriend Xavier saved her from the clutches of Hell itself.
But when Jake Thorn returns to town, determined to take Beth away with him, it seems he may be able to destroy everything she cares about.
Will Jake's actions shatter Beth's faith in love? Or can she overcome heartache and betrayal to fulfil her role on Earth?
Review: I totally loved 'Halo' so I was overjoyed when I realised there would be a follow up novel in 'Hades'.
Bethany is a loveable yet slightly naïve character.
You can see why she's been an angel all her life.
As in 'Halo', her and her siblings have been sent to earth on a mission to do good.
Bethany is getting there with human life but in 'Hades' she still tends to struggle. She's not got the experience her friends have in life.
I love the description in this novel - I feel warm and happy.
It just makes me really want to be on a beach sipping cocktails and reading dreamily.
The intensity of this novel is empowering. I am constantly eager for what's next.
Beth's love for Xavier is so apparent as is his for her.
Beth will do anything for Xavier and as they say 'love is blind'.
Her blindness for never ever being without Xavier puts her in grave danger.
These scenes are intense and mind blowing, the imagery is amazing.
As a reader it's as if you're seeing everything through Beth and Xavier's eyes.
If like me you've read 'Halo' when things turn nasty you can kind of understand whose behind it.
But you're saying to yourself no it can't be.
The descriptions of Gabriel would make any red blooded woman blush. He is simply to good to be true. I'm left cringing at Molly as an angel he doesn't understand human love in the way she wants him to.
My heart seriously does go out to her.
This novel is fast paced and edgy and all I'll say is I don't fancy ending up in 'Hades'.
Before I read 'Hades' I wasn't sure what the title implied.
Now I know that 'Hades' is the less frightening name for 'Hell'.
Beth's time in 'Hades' is intense, exciting and at times frightening...
The description of the nunnery and the nun who has been possessed was both frightening and intriguing.
The further you get to the end of the novel the pace quickens and the drama over takes.
As a reader you are on the edge of your seat.
I also liked the reference to Bon Jovi's 'Livin On A Prayer'.
Woah! 'Hades' had been intense on many levels but the final chapter is gripping, exciting and terrifying. I found myself on tenderhooks unable to put it down.
I loved the ending it was simply beautiful, although the epilogue is what's frustrated me I'm left on tenderhooks.
I imagine that there could be another book in this series and I look forward to reading it.

This book was intriguing, exciting, suspenseful at times, and really, really good. I am shocked at the negative reviews of this novel- I think the author outdid herself on this novel, it was excellent. I look forward to more novels by this author.
